Now that we’ve explained the “What” of this event, here is the “Why:”
Access to capital has been a hot topic for small business owners across the country. This blog serves as our means of educating small businesses on the many different forms and access points of capital. However, we realized we needed to do more to help small businesses access the capital they need. With the US economy still hobbling along, small businesses are hungry for lending information. Many businesses continue to struggle in our current economy and a constant source of their hardship is the inability to access capital to grow their businesses and create jobs. We felt that an event where small businesses could meet and pitch lenders and learn about the various forms of capital would be the best thing we could offer. Therefore, we decided to host Access to Capital: Money to Main Street, what we hope believe will be a truly innovative one-day event intended to help you grow and sustain your small business or startup.
Those attending will have exclusive access to traditional and alternative lenders, legal experts, crowdfunding advisors, and public and private sector leaders in the Los Angeles small business community. At Access to Capital 2012, attendees will be able to:
• Meet and pitch traditional lenders, community banks, credit unions, community development funds and other alternative micro lenders in our Town Square.
• Get valuable insight on how to prepare, pitch and close funding to grow your business
• Hear from debt and equity experts, successful entrepreneurs, small and micro business advocates and learn about innovative ways to capitalize your business in our Town Square districts
• Network in a community atmosphere with 400+ local businesses, experts and much, much more.
